19.3.2020 Covid Update

Dear Parents and Players,

You may be aware that the AFL has issued an updated statement with its position on COVID-19, which can be found here.

The start of the 2020 season has been postponed to 31 May 2020. In addition to the postponement of Auskick and junior and youth footy games, the AFL’s decision also means that pre-season practice matches, training sessions and other AFL-related activities are now also cancelled.

Clearly, that is disappointing but not surprising. As you know, we had already made the decision to cancel all club-related activities. Having now heard from the AFL about postponement of the season, I can confirm that Gear Day on 22 March is now also cancelled.

We will keep working through various club-related issues over the coming weeks in preparation for the delayed start to the season. We will also continue to update you regarding developments as necessary. In the meantime, the AFL has issued some FAQs, which might answer some of the questions you may have.
