IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR THE UNDER 11S

GRADING THE TEAMS

It is likely that we will have three teams this year; two teams in Division 1 and one team in Division 3.

This year the teams are graded. The Wildcats will not be grouped by friends/schools/parent requests – it will be a simple and fair grading process. The aim to get three similarly-developed teams together and to be competitive in their divisions, which makes the game more enjoyable for all involved.

TRAINING

We will have 3 pre-season Sunday training sessions at the amazing new Gore Hill Oval. We’ll also have our Monday 5 to 630pm training session.

So effectively that’s 6 sessions before the first game on Sunday April 7^th. This will allow for some solid prep before the season starts, but also time for us to grade the Wildcats fairly.

Here are the dates to make it easy:

Sunday 17^th March 12-2pm – Welcome back skills training (cancelled due to rain)

Monday 18^th March 5-630pm – Welcome back skills training

Sunday 24^th March 12-2pm – Grading

Monday 25^th March 5-630pm – Grading

Team selections during the week 25/3.

Sunday 31^st March 9 -1030am – Training in selected teams

Monday 1^st April 5 – 630pm – Training in selected teams

Monday nights from 5 to 630pm will our on-going training slot at Gore Hill Oval.

Our first game will be on the 7th April – we are yet to receive the draw from the AFL but as soon as it’s available you will receive a copy.

Home games this year for U11s will be played at ELS, like last year. And we have requested a few Friday nights at Gore Hill Oval.

GEAR DAY

Gear Day and the club’s season launch will be on the 24th March at Gore Hill Oval from 9am to 12pm. This is the day you can purchase your wildcats gear for those of you who don’t have shorts/socks etc. Mouthguards will be able to be fitted during this time as well.

Jumpers will be given out as per previous years, by your team coach and must be returned at the end of the season.

COACHES/MANAGERS

We have had a few volunteers to coach but we always welcome more volunteers – so if you are interested please let me know.

Each team will also require a manager once the teams have been sorted.
